New portrait series - Hansen & Lydersen

Here's the second shot from my new portrait series. This one is of Ole Hansen, the driving force behind Hansen & Lydersen smoked salmon. Ole is following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather Lyder-Nilsen Lydersen who set up a salmon smokery in Kirkeness in northern norway at the beginning of last century. His grandfather Leif Lydersen took over the reigns in 1962 and now, having skipped a generation, Ole has re-started the company here in London four years ago. He now supplies Selfridges as well as several top restaurants around the capital. Last week we visited him at his smokery in Stoke Newington and here is the result.

New portrait series - Naomi Paul

I've just started a new personal project, photographing environmental portraits of people with small, interesting businesses around London.

The first subject is my friend Naomi Paul, a textile designer based in east London. Her company specialises in designing and creating traditionally hand crafted innovative objects and materials for interior spaces. She won ‘Young Designer 2012’ Homes & Gardens magazine and selected by Kevin McCloud, Grand Designs as one of his 10 Green Heroes of 2012.

We shot the picture in her workshop last week - let me know what you think. We've got several more people in the pipeline and when the series is complete I'll publish them as a website and a small booklet.

South Tyrol summer campaign

Back in August last year I was back in South Tyrol shooting their summer campaign. South Tyrol is in the Dolomites in north eastern Italy, and is one of the most beautiful places you could hope to visit. I'd been there a couple of times before on holiday, and was thrilled to be asked to shoot their advertising campaign. The summer campaign has appeared in the FT Weekend and Telegraph Ultra Travel supplements so far and a range of other media across the UK shortly.

Big thanks to Max, Carmen and Martin at South Tyrol Marketing and Adam at FourBGB for being such great clients. And of course a big thanks to the crew for making it happen: Katie Higson for production and assisting, Nel Haynes for food and prop styling and Stefano Cherubini at Happy Finish for retouching.

We were also out there last March shooting their winter campaign. Here it is again in case you missed it:

Landscapes from the Isle of Lewis

I spent a few days on the Isle of Lewis over Easter while visiting friends. Before I went I didn't know much about the place, but I'm pleased to report that Lewis, along with it's neighbour Harris, is absolutely beautiful! I managed to spend a couple of days photographing some landscapes while I was there, you can see the full set here.
