New portraits for Saga Magazine

Earlier in the summer I was commissioned by Saga Magazine to shoot some portraits in the style of my Handmade London series. We had a lot of fun meeting and photographing Daniel Harris at the London Cloth Company, Simon Goode at the London Centre for Book Arts and Jonathan Church at Joseph Cheaney & Sons.

You can see the final pictures and a short behind the scenes video below. Many thanks to Sue Strange at Saga for the commission and Katie Higson for assisting - look for them in the September issue out now.

Simple skincare shoot

Last week I was shooting a new series of lifestyle images for skincare brand Simple. I can't show you any of the pictures yet but here are a few from the lighting tests while the team were setting up.

It was a manic day with 10 models and 18 shots to get through, but we got everything we needed. Big thanks to Katie Higson, Tim Bowditch, Phill Bradley and Matt Lain for assisting,  Adam Swords for filming the BTS (coming soon), Helene Sivilia and Claire Portman for styling and HMU, Lauren Jarmey at LPA for production and of course Mark Griffiths and David Hampshire at Havas EHS for the commission.

A couple more from the Handmade London series

A couple of weeks ago I got to shoot two new portraits for my Handmade London series

Michael Ruh and his wife Natascha are the couple behind Michael Ruh Studio, an award-winning glass blowing studio in Tulse Hill in south London. When I visited they were working on a spectacular chandelier destined for the Four Seasons hotel in Moscow. The furnace heats the glass to 1100C and the temperature in the workshop felt like it was only a few degrees cooler!

Jessica de Lotz is a jewellery designer based in Clerkenwell. She designs and manufactures a beautiful range of quirky and inventive necklaces, bangles and rings in her retro workshop. She even does her own taxidermy on occasion, such as the patient squirrel in this photo.

I've also shot 3 more for Saga Magazine which I'll show when the magazine comes out at the end of August.
